Presenting Plays

In Reading for the last two weeks we have been reading and performing plays. Some of the plays were presented on Friday. The children did an amazing job of staying in character and projecting their voices.

The children have taken turns to assess the plays and give some positive feedback to the performing group.

Calendar Art

The children have worked really hard to produce a gorgeous piece of art for our calendars. We looked at lots of abstract art and the only criteria the children had was that they needed to use lines and think about colour combinations, especially complimentary colours.

We are really pleased with how unique they all look.

Kauri's Olympic Medal Tally

As part of our study of the Olympics we have been keeping a tally of New Zealand's Olympic medals.

Speech Finals

Well done to our speech finalists who did an amazing job this morning with some very convincing speeches!

Ethan explained why children should be in charge and not us adults, Very funny Ethan.

Grace convinced us why children should be able to leave school at the age of eight. Her examples and children's language warmed our hearts.

And the winner is....Isla! Isla entertained us all with all the reasons why being the oldest child in the family is the best.

Please make Nate's dream come true and make hamsters legal in New Zealand!
Nate supported his argument with some well thought out reasons. Well done Nate.
